About Norovirus
Norovirus remains a persistent public health issue in the United States, causing 20 million cases of infection each year and driving thousands of outbreaks in settings like schools, nursing homes, and hospitals. The virus spreads easily through contaminated food, surfaces, and close contact, making enclosed, high-density environments especially vulnerable. While norovirus circulates year-round, winter consistently exacerbates its spread, contributing to seasonal surges that lead to over 100,000 hospitalizations annually and disproportionately affect older adults, young children, and immunocompromised individuals.
Our Goal
At NoroSense, our goal is to intervene before norovirus outbreaks escalate. Recognizing that delayed or inaccessible testing can accelerate transmission in high-risk, high-density settings, we have developed a rapid detection kit that delivers lab-level molecular accuracy in under 30 minutes. Built by a team spanning molecular diagnostics and business strategy, our solution is grounded in validated science and engineered for real-world deployment, enabling earlier decisions, faster containment, and more effective outbreak prevention.
